BIP-110 is a proposed soft fork that would limit the amount of arbitrary (non-monetary) data that can be stored in Bitcoin transactions such as capping OP_RETURN outputs and other data pushes. It's one of the more actively debated proposals in Bitcoin right now, and miners play a direct role in whether it activates.
